These two beautiful cats belong to a 10-year-girl named Jennifer in Iowa who read my book. She tells me Tripod got his name when he was stepped on by one of their horses when he was a kitten and broke one of his rear legs.  He walked on 3 legs for most of his kitten-hood, but eventually learned to use his rear leg and he ended up being a really good mouser.  Now he can run just as fast as the other cats.
